Prague is known for being a romantic city full of life. It’s been welcoming tourists with open hands for several centuries and people say it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. It is majestic, but also a bit mysterious. The unique historic centre together with Prague Castle, Charles Bridge and many churches, palaces and gardens is registered on the UNESCO List of World Cultural and Natural Heritage.

Prague in Two Days

Two days are not enough to learn about the city, however, we can still show you what not to miss. Start at the Old Town Square. There is a special site everyone visiting Prague has to see: the astronomical clock. Do not miss the beautiful Gothic Church of Our Lady before Týn or the Baroque St. Nicholas Church. Then walk over to the Charles Bridge, where you will get the view of Prague Castle. Don’t forget to take some photos! Cross the Vltava River to enter the picturesque quarter called Lesser Town. Discover the old streets and enjoy the views of the city palaces you will see on the way to the Prague Castle. On the castle hill, you will see the majestic Gothic St. Vitus Cathedral as well as the picturesque Golden Lane. In summer, the gardens of the Prague Castle are also open, providing a beautiful view of the whole city.

The second day, you can visit Old Town and Josefov. For example, start at Náměstí Republiky by the Municipal House. This is where the royal route, along which Czech kings rode for their coronation in the cathedral, used to start. Behind the Old Town Square, there is the old Jewish quarter called Josefov. There you can visit the Jewish Museum as well as several medieval and modern – about one hundred years old – synagogues including the Old New Synagogue and the Spanish Synagogue. Maybe you will meet the Golem, too!

Perhaps you will experience Prague like Franz Kafka, the Prague writer, did – as a city that will never leave you after you visit it once. Spare no time, extend your stay and explore other beautiful places in the capital city of the Czech Republic!

Tip for Romantics

One word – Petřín. Especially in spring, this is a place that all lovers have to visit. Petřín is a green hill near Prague Castle with a great view of the city and the Vltava River, slowly flowing through the city centre. In spring, from the end of March and in April, it is covered by blooming fruit trees that make the views very romantic.

Tips for Stylish Cafés

Did you know that there are still cafés in Prague that famous personalities such as Franz Kafka and Albert Einstein used to visit? Go to Café Louvre or Café Slavia near the National Theatre. A unique tip is the cubist Orient Café that you can find near the Municipal House.
