This, newest of the six historic Prague synagogues was built in the Spanish Moorish style in the second half of the 19th century.
The walls, carved doors, railings, galleries and dome are decorated with stylised Oriental motifs, and the overall impression is underlined by stucco arabesques and stained-glass windows. Take a look through this part of the historical exhibitions of the Prague Jewish Museum, which carry on from the exhibition in the Maisel Synagogue. Visitors will also be interested in the silver treasure from synagogues in Bohemia and Moravia; more than six thousand items represent the work of thirteen generations of Central European Gold- and silversmiths.
