Signal Festival in Prague
The Signal Festival is a festival of light, videomapping and light installations, and belongs to one of the greatest cultural events in the Czech Republic. Under the direction of Czech and international experts in light design in artistic spaces, Prague’s streets and public areas, its most popular historical monuments as well as lesser known corners, all change over the course of four evenings to capture the different facades of today’s and yesterday’s Prague in non-traditional ways.

Signal Festival 2024 to Illuminate Prague Castle for the First Time

This year, from October 10 to 13, Signal Festival will once again transform Prague with four nights of captivating audiovisual art. Running daily from 7:00 p.m. to midnight, the festival will explore themes of nature, technology, society, and culture.

For the first time ever, the Prague Castle area will be part of the festival’s two routesHradčany and Centrum—featuring a total of 22 art installations. Among the highlights are 7 stops in the paid Gallery Zone and 2 video mappings: one at the Archbishop’s Palace in Hradčany, and another at the Municipal Library in the city center.

Notable installations include monumental works by Jiří Příhoda at Šternberk Palace, a multimedia exhibition by the London-based studio UVA using kinetic pendulums at Kunsthalle Praha, and a sound projection by Italian artist Quayola at CAMP.

Additionally, this year’s festival will introduce the inaugural Signal Forum, a networking conference held at CAMP on October 11 and 12. The event will feature talks by leading experts from the fields of technology, new media, and science.

While most of the festival is free to attend, the Gallery Zone will require a ticket for entry.
