Via ferratas are an easier alternative to rock climbing. They’re basically technical hiking routes, created in mountainous terrain, which without their fixtures would only be accessible to climbers. Steel cables and rungs attached to the rock mean even beginners can climb these routes. Via ferratas are becoming increasingly popular in Czechia. Most of them were built fairly recently and new ones are being added every year. There are currently around 60 of them, and here we present an overview of the most interesting ones.
