The story of Hotel Sanatorium Mariot

Hotel Sanatorium Mariot was opened by former football coach Dušan Uhrin Sr. in 1997. He named it after the Marriott Hotel in Preston, England, where the Czech national football team had stayed a year earlier and which won the 1996 European vice-championship under his management. He was so impressed by the football success and the environment of the hotel that he decided to use his knowledge of regeneration to create an equally pleasant place in Františkovy Lázně. It was here that he often went to football training camps with the national team and AC Sparta Prague.
