The May event is associated with the celebration of spring and the new season in Karlovy Vary. There is a parade, led by the city's founder Emperor Charles IV on horseback, and the blessing of the mineral springs. The festivities take place in many parts of the spa town: T. G. M., the public space in front of the main post office and Hotel Thermal, Mill Colonnade, Little Versailles park and the Grand hotel Pupp.
You can look forward to an extensive cultural and social programme. Charles IV, the founder of the town himself, is coming with his suite in “Charles IV procession“, which is a traditional part of the Opening of the Spa Season in Karlovy Vary. Like in previous years, mineral springs will be consecrated so that they can keep restoring the visitors to Karlovy Vary to health.
