The Vltava River trail – a fascinating opportunity for you to navigate a boat from České Budějovice all the way to Hamburg. The adventure starts in the South Bohemian metropolis at Lanna Shipyard, then meanders via Hluboká nad Vltavou to Týn nad Vltavou and beyond, after taking a turn upstream the Lužnice River, to Koloděje nad Lužnicí, which features the newly renovated Mitrowicz Chateau.
After the opening of the Hněvkovice lock, the Vltava waterway is interconnected further to the north for small vessels. Boats up to three metres in width and a weight of 3.5 tonnes are able to pass through the Orlík and Slapy reservoirs, and will thus reach Prague. In addition, you can go to the confluence of the Vltava and Elbe rivers in Mělník, and continue thereafter downstream the Elbe as far as Hamburg. Information points are strategically placed along the trail. You can refresh yourselves and relax pleasantly or get information there.
At the information points you can hire sports equipment (bikes, tandem-bikes, in-line skates or Nordic walking poles), a family motorboat and even a boat with a skipper. The information points also serve as stops for regular navigation.

The Vltava River trail provides complete information about boats for hire, regular lines on the Vltava, tourist destinations or food businesses and boat, houseboat, bike and sports equipment hire services, as well as information about the technical parameters specified for boats at individual stretches. Everyone can find everything necessary in advance on the stezkavltavy.cz or InfoPointVltava.cz websites.

A regular line is operated between Hluboká and Týn nad Vltavou from the beginning of July, and it is provided every Tuesday in July and August by Vojtěch Lanna, which alongside the Malše is the largest cruise ship in the České Budějovice section of the river. It can accommodate up to 90 passengers. There is even a pleasant bar onboard. It is possible to transport children’s prams and bicycles on this ship. Regular cruises take place on four routes.
