The Czech Republic will host the IIHF Women’s Ice Hockey World Championship in April 2025 in the picturesque city of České Budějovice. This prestigious event brings together the world’s best women’s teams and players for thrilling matches, exceptional sportsmanship, and an unforgettable atmosphere.
The women's equivalent of the NHL (PWHL) will also be suspended for the tournament, bringing the real elite of the hockey world to České Budějovice in South Bohemia.
The ten teams participating in the tournament are divided into two groups.
GROUP A: the Czech Republic, Canada, the USA, Finland and Switzerland.
GROUP B: Germany, Sweden, Japan, Norway and Hungary.
In the group stage, all teams will play each other in a round-robin format. All teams in Group A will advance to the quarterfinals, while only the top three from Group B will advance.
