When an extensive exploration of Brno’s underground areas was undertaken in the 1990s, maybe not even the archaeologists knew how extensive these spaces were under Dominikánské Square.
In the Mint Master’s Cellar – a historic cellar that was probably originally located under the house of mint master Bruno – there has been an extensive set of exhibits open to the public since 2007. These record the history of the industry and art of coin minting (and the mint master can mint you a silver groš as a keepsake) going back to the broader history of this place from the Middle Ages up to the present date. There is information on the old Fish Market, which used to take place in the square.
