However, the church was rebuilt after a devastating fire in 1784 into the family tomb of the Dietrichsteins.
A total of 45 family members were buried here from the 17th to the 19th century. Although it is a burial ground, it certainly does not give off a dismal impression. During the tourist season (April to October) a permanent exhibition will acquaint you with the history of this place as well as the pilgrimage past of the town of Mikulov. You can also see the robe of Carolina Maxmiliana Dietrichstein here from the 18th century, which was found in the tomb and is now newly restored. Concerts are held here, including organ (the original preserved church organ) and from the terrace there is a beautiful view of the historic square, as well as the entire area of Mikulov.
