Uherčice Chateau originated on the site of the original Gothic fortress from the late 15th century. Its greatest period of expansion took place in the 16th century when the palace grew practically into its present-day appearance. The Baroque period significantly enriched the interiors with valuable stucco and painting decorations by artists and architects from Italy.
Do not miss a stroll through the French-style park transformed into a natural landscape, which is followed by the English park. Only an obelisk and an artificial castle ruin have survived out of the various structures that once enhanced the romantic atmosphere of the park.
Two guided tour routes are available
The first tour route takes you through the newly restored northern wing, where you will learn about the history of the last noble Collalto et San Salvatore family, who carried out extensive renovations of this part of the castle in the early 19th century.
As part of the second route, you will explore the castle's farming facilities. You will visit an apartment for maidservants who took care of the livestock and the chateau distillery with its original equipment, where alcohol was distilled until 1969.
