Graphite mine in Český Krumlov

It wasn’t just gold and silver that were mined in Český Krumlov and its surroundings, but also other minerals, including graphite. Supposedly the pounding of mining hammers could be heard from the underground directly in the city center! Before setting out, you will receive special clothing including mining lamps. A mine train will then take you to a depth of 70 m below ground and the guide will walk you through the underground tunnels, where you can see period and modern machines as well as other interesting equipment. The tour of the graphite mine takes about an hour and a half.
