Come and see the stud farm where the horse whose statue dominates Wenceslas Square in Prague comes from! Its architecture in Tudor style with Art Nouveau elements will captivate you.
The architecturally interesting complex of buildings with Art Nouveau details from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries is one of the last three state stud farms (along with the UNESCO stud farm in Kladruby n. L. and the stud farm in Tlumačov). The legendary horse Ardo, who was the model for the sculptor J. V. Myslbek when he sculpted the monument to St. Wenceslas for Prague's Wenceslas Square, came from here. One of Myslbek's studies stands today in the courtyard of the stud farm.
4 times a week the Stud Farm in Písek organizes tours for the general public. The tours of the stables and the entire stud area always start at 2 pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
