The puppet theatre in Prague's Dejvice district focuses mainly on performances for children, but its repertoire also includes plays for adults. In all performances you will meet the famous puppets of Spejbl, Hurvínek, Mánička, Mrs. Kateřina and the dog Žeryk.
The Spejbl and Hurvínek Theatre has been entertaining audiences for 80 years. The theatre was founded in Pilsen in 1930 by Professor Josef Skupa and it became the first modern professional puppet theatre in the Czech Republic.
The repertoire for children consists of humorous stories from the contemporary world as well as modern fairy tales. For adults, there are comedies of a satirical nature.
