Located in the historical heart of Plzeň, the Rous Hotel is just a few steps away from various architectural sites and museums. The hotel itself offers comfortable accommodation and pleasant relaxation in the jazz café or on the unique terrace on the medieval city walls, commanding amazing views of the nearby park.
The history of the hotel building started hand in hand with the foundation of the town of Plzeň in 1295. Some of its original features such as vaults and stone facing have been preserved to this date. Throughout the centuries the house has had many owners. The most interesting of the proprietors was a mad textile merchant, who ran Plzeň’s first brothel in the attic. In 1789 he was punished for his dirty business and was publicly pilloried in front of the city’s Town Hall. The current owners – the Rous family – have had the house in their ownership since 1996.
