Changing of the Guard in Ice Hockey and Floorball: This Year Belongs to Women!
Following last year’s successful Ice Hockey World Championship held in Prague and Ostrava, which featured NHL stars such as Pastrňák, McDavid, and Bedard alongside Matthews, Czechia will, for the first time in history, host the top echelon of women’s ice hockey. The 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey Women’s World Championship will take place from 9 April in České Budějovice in South Bohemia.
You can enjoy women’s floorball at its highest level during the Women’s Floorball World Championship, which will be hosted by the cities of Brno and Ostrava from 6 December. If all goes as planned, the world’s top players, including Sweden’s Maja Viström, Finland’s Veera Kauppi, and Poland’s Dominika Buczek, will take part.
Ostrava: The Mecca of Czech Athletics Targets Stars
The metropolis of North Moravia will welcome top athletes twice. The first event, the Czech Indoor Gala, part of the elite World Athletics Indoor Tour, kicks off on 4 February. Highlights include Ethiopian runner Tsige Duguma, a silver medallist from the Paris Olympics, and German sports star Alica Schmidt.
The city will be also holding the prestigious Golden Spike - an athletics competition, which is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour - Gold, on 24 June. ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup Prague
June, traditionally full of sports events, will also feature the ICF Canoe Slalom World Cup (26 to 29 June) for instance. Like the phenomenal Australian Jessica Fox, you can also enjoy wandering through the romantic, narrow streets of Prague Old Town when you’re not watching the sports events.
To Brno for MotoGP and Fantastic Basketball
