To the Olomouc Region in search of some unusual culinary experiences
Discover the wonders of Czechia not only in its countryside and towns, but also on a plate! Taste delicacies that you won’t find anywhere else in the world. It’s not just their flavours that make them special, but often their original names, too. What do you picture when you hear the words drowned man, Indian or sweet lamb? What does a dumpling sliced like bread and made from rolls and milk taste like? And can cheese be naturally ultra-low-fat yet still taste delicious? The answers to all these questions can be found in the Olomouc Region.

The mountain ridges of the Jeseníky, wide plains that are perfect for bike trips, castles, chateaus and caves, the historical centres of Olomouc and Šternberk, places of pilgrimage and spas: the Olomouc Region offers all this and more. And the range of flavours to be enjoyed is just as diverse. This makes the region a great choice for lovers of food travel. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the unconventional Czech culinary specialties to be found here.

One of the country’s most unique culinary attractions originated right in the heart of Moravia, in Loštice, to be precise, more than 400 years ago. A cheese beloved not only by people who delight in strong flavours and comfort food, but also by those who like to eat healthily and stay trim. Olomoucké tvarůžky! Traditionally, this golden treat made from cow’s milk is served on Czech bread with beer, although you can also enjoy ice cream or desserts made from it.
