He performs with some of the world's most famous conductors, and has sung as characters from operas such as Don Giovanni, Così fan tutte, Libuše and La Bohème on some of the world's most prestigious stages - from Munich, through Brussels to Boston. As a permanent member of the Vienna State Opera, he makes regular guest appearances at the Metropolitan Opera in New York and the Salzburg Festival.
Czech vocal star Adam Plachetka’s wife is the top Czech soprano Kateřina Kněžíková. They enjoy spending their free time with their children at their cottage in the Znojmo region in the vineyard paradise of South Moravia. The couple are also regular guests of the Znojmo Music Festival.
As part of the celebrations marking the Year of Czech Music, he and his wife Kateřina Kněžíková will perform in a concert of the festive opera Libuše during the Prague Spring festival. He will make another festival appearance at Smetana’s Litomyšl, at the château in Kroměříž on 28 July, at the Žižkov Tower in Prague on 31 July and also at the Janáček Brno show.
