Before putting on your skis, choose which of the two ski areas in Rokytnice suits you best. The first area is Horní Domky, with a splendid location on the slopes of Lysá Mountain, and the second area is Studenov, which is easily accessible from the centre of town.
Hit the slopes on skis or a snowboard
If you like slopes with greater difficulty, variety and width, your choice should be the Horní Domky ski area on the southern slopes of Lysá Mountain. Here you’ll find over 14 kilometres of perfectly groomed pistes, some of which boast a width of up to 100 metres. The top of the slopes can be reached via two four-seat chairlifts and six pole lifts. One of the chairlifts even takes you up to the first zone of the Krkonoše National Park, making it a true Czech rarity. If you would rather hop on a snowboard than some skis on your winter holidays, Rokytnice won’t fall short. Awaiting you is a snow park with several jumps, obstacles and its own lift. It is popular mainly with Freestyle enthusiasts. Of course Horní Domky offers all the amenities such as restaurants, ski schools, ski service shops and equipment rentals, but also paragliding and a mountain rescue station.Hone your style in the Krkonoše
Would you like to sharpen your skills a little while on your winter holidays? You will have the ideal opportunity in the second of Rokytnice’s ski areas, Studenov. Here you have a choice of four downhill runs with a total length of 3.5 kilometres. The slopes are gentle and wide, so you’ll have plenty of room to work on your style. You will be taken comfortably to the top of the slopes by two ski lifts, a button lift and a children’s pole lift. From the terminal station of the cableway you can link up with the Krkonošská magistrála, which is one of the best cross-country trails in the Czech Republic. The local ski facilities include not only equipment rentals, ski service shops and ski schools but also plenty of places where you can eat well or warm up with mulled wine.Where else to go?
