Herlíkovice Ski Resort

Every winter, just as the Krkonoše Mountains really start to freeze up, the eastern slopes of Žalý Mountain fill up with ski enthusiasts, who come here to experience the joy of active movement amidst the beautiful natural surroundings of the highest Czech mountain range. Once you get here, for example by ski bus from Prague, you can be among them! So what are you waiting for?

The modern ski resort of Herlíkovice and Bubákov in the Krkonoše Mountains offers excellent service, well-maintained slopes, and is surrounded by cross-country trails. You reach the top of Žalý Mountain comfortably via one of the two four-seat chairlifts or one of the seven ski lifts.

Up to the valley!

Once you’re up at the peak or on the slopes of the mountain you can choose which of the pistes to take back down to the Elbe valley. In total there are 13 kilometres of carefully groomed slopes of various difficulty levels. So which will it be? Black, for true champions? One of the four red slopes, where you can fully enjoy your descent? Do you want to hone your style a little? Then try one of the five blue slopes, the longest one with a length of 4.3 kilometres and a climb of 450 metres.

What else can you enjoy at the Herlíkovice and Bubákov Ski Resort? If you prefer snowboarding, there is a snow park in store for you. You can also try the popular activity of snowtubing – a thrilling ride that will certainly put a smile on your face. But do not forget that you can even ski in the evening, when you will be treated to 3 kilometres of perfectly lit slopes.

Where else to go?

It would be a shame to reach the top of Žalý Mountain and not climb to the top of its stone look-out tower. The amazing view of the magnificent mountain panorama of the Krkonoše National Park is definitely worth the effort. If you would like to learn more about this bit of the Arctic in the heart of Europe, take a trip to nearby Vrchlabí, where you will find the Krkonoše Museum located in the wonderful spaces of an Augustinian monastery and four charming historical houses on the main square.
