Noble architecture surrounded by the green haze of rare trees, trickling of the Telčský stream and an elegant Classicist greenhouse with tropical plants. Step into the green oasis beneath the chateau walls and please your eye and spirit by the splendid views of the castle as well as the wonders of nature.
A manor garden occupied these places already in the times of Zachariáš of Hradec, but it did not stretch on the area of 6 hectares as it does now. The refined English landscape garden with many rare trees was established at the turn of the 19th century and a Classicist greenhouse that you can still admire today was added somewhat later. When wandering around the park on the well-maintained footpaths, you should keep an eye out for the Zachariáš’s lípa (linden tree), one of the oldest trees in the park, with a trunk circumference of 760 cm. It is said to have been planted by Zachariáš himself when his son was born.
