Tanvald-Harrachov cog railway

The twelve-kilometer long track from Tanvald to Harrachov was built at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. It includes a total of five tunnels and several bridges; the most beautiful of them is the 26 meter high bridge over the river Jizera. On the steepest section of the track trains used to have to climb a few hundred meters with the help of the Abtovy cog. In the summer months, regular nostalgic journeys are made with these historic trains, as well as other events for the public, and at the station in Kořenov you can visit a small museum with a period office dispatcher.
