Minaret in the grounds of Lednice Chateau
The Lednice Minaret is one of the tallest structures of its type in non-Islamic countries. It was built in the Moorish style according to the design of J. Hardmuth at the beginning of the 19th century and is one of the many Romantic buildings you’ll encounter when wandering through the Lednice-Valtice Complex.
The slender tower reaches a height of 60 m, has three viewing platforms and serves as an unconventional lookout tower in the summer months; 302 stairs take you to the top. While the Minaret can be easily reached on foot through the chateau grounds, a cruise route also leads to it; boats depart from the jetty below Lednice Chateau.
