In the village of Zubrnice located in a unique place in the romantic hilly countryside of the Central Bohemian Uplands north of Prague, you can pay a visit to the highly-regarded traditional folk architecture that includes log, timbered and brick houses. Here you can discover how people used to live and work in the Bohemian countryside in centuries long gone by.
The centre of the open air museum is an old historic village in the midst of the hills of the Central Bohemian Uplands. The exhibition is installed in the most valuable houses in the centre of the village and its surroundings with smaller movable items being added from time to time. The middle of the village is dominated by a Baroque well from 1695 brought here from another village near Ústí nad Labem. In a wooden two-storey building there is an exposition showing the life and work of people at a farm house, with a unique hot-air fruit dryer.
Another brick built house dating back to the mid-19th century hosts an exhibition of an old country shop with many valuable details. A unique small water mill also features a log-built residential structure with an annex. The guided tour for visitors includes an old country school exposition and the Church of St. Mary Magdalene.
