Duchcov Chateau was made famous by Giacomo Casanova, who served for thirteen years there as a librarian. In the Gallery of Giacomo there are seasonal exhibitions and the Castle café offers cozy facilities and beautiful views of the park, of the Ore Mountains and the sunset. The festivities in Duchcov will begin with the traditional arrival of Giacomo Casanova in a carriage at the local castle. The accompanying program will be a period fair in the courtyard of the castle, fencing performances, jumping castle horses, a horse fire show, a castle falconer with a display of birds of prey training, tours and carriage rides and a thrilling drummers march. The festivities traditionally end with the farewell of Giacomo Casanova from the balustrades of the castle and fireworks.
