A Unique Combination of Wellness and a Culinary Experience
The first beer spas emerged in Germany in the late 20th century, from where this fantastic idea spread to the Czech Republic. The first place to embrace the concept of combining beer and wellness was a brewery in Chodová Planá in West Bohemia, but today, these treatments are available in many locations. The experience usually consists of a half-hour bath with ingredients used in beer brewing – yeast, hops, and various other raw materials. The bath is deeply relaxing, helping to loosen muscles, improve circulation and the immune system, and, thanks to the B vitamins and proteins in the yeast, it also has a positive effect on hair and skin quality.
During the bath, it's the perfect time to sample local beers straight from the tap by the spa. After the bath, you can relax on a bed, usually made of oat straw, allowing your body to absorb all the beneficial substances in peace. Most beer spas also offer additional services, such as massages, saunas, or oxygen therapies.
