Czech Wines for Every Palate in the World
Taste the Diversity: Red, White, Rosé, or Sparkling
Czech and Moravian wines rank among the best in Europe and worldwide. White wines boast a fascinating spectrum of aromas, rich extractive substances, and a harmonious blend of full flavours paired with a fresh, vibrant acidity. Recently, red wines have also gained popularity, thanks to modern technology, offering wines that are full-bodied and expressive, yet soft, velvety, and pleasantly fruity. Rosé wines, with their exceptionally youthful character, are trending. In the Czech Republic, fans of natural, sparkling, orange, or straw wines will also find something to enjoy.

Try them all!

The wide selection of wines makes it easy to find the perfect pairing for every meal, whether by following the rule of harmony or contrast. Sparkling or light white or rosé wines pair well with starters, while fuller-bodied white or rosé wines complement soups. For main courses, depending on the meat’s colour or sauce type, fuller white and red wines are ideal. To conclude the evening, naturally sweet or fortified wines suit desserts or as a digestif.

Grape Varieties

One reason why the Czech Republic produces wines with such a unique flavour and legendary diversity is the rich variety of grape varieties. The uniqueness of Czech vineyards lies in their wide assortment, even in smaller wineries. In addition to international varieties, there are types typical of Central Europe.

The Czech Republic also has a tradition of viticulture and grape breeding, having developed several new varieties, such as Pálava, Moravian Muscat, and Aurelius among whites, and André, Cabernet Moravia, and Neronet among reds.
