Grüner Veltliner
The most widespread variety in our vineyards. Depending on the grape’s ripeness in a given year, Grüner Veltliner produces fresh and refreshing wines with subtle muscat tones, suitable for everyday drinking as well as premium wines. These wines have a green-straw colour and a linden blossom aroma. Riper wines develop hints of white pepper, transitioning into a delicate almond flavour with a creamy texture. Young wines pair well with cold cuts, while more mature wines complement beef or neutral sauces. They also make an excellent pairing with fried Christmas carp or other freshwater fish.
Müller Thurgau (Rivaner)
The second most common variety in our vineyards. This wine has a lighter colour with a greenish-straw hue, is medium-bodied, lively, and well-balanced. Its bouquet and palate reveal muscat aromas with notes of nettles and peaches, alongside citrus, gooseberries, and blackcurrant. It pairs well with starters, vegetable soups, fish, and fresh cheeses.
Riesling
Riesling excels with its broad spectrum of aromas – ranging from fruity to spicy, mineral, earthy, or smoky. It often evokes ripe apricots, linden blossom, and quince, gaining petrol notes as it ages. Young wines have a green-straw hue that deepens into golden to amber with maturity. It pairs wonderfully with starters, fish, light poultry dishes, and sweet variations with desserts
Welsch Riesling
Wines from the Welsch Riesling variety are fresh, full, and balanced. Young wines feature a straw-green colour and a wide range of flavours, from fruity gooseberries or currants to meadow flower scents and, in riper wines, delicate honey notes and raisins. This variety is often the base for sparkling wines and is well-suited to archiving. Welsch Riesling pairs beautifully with cold starters, vegetable dishes, mature cheeses, light fish dishes, or fresh pork products.
