Schwarzenberského施瓦岑贝格运河使舒马瓦山脉自然景区变得更加丰富多彩。这条运河形成于1789年至1791年，当时运河的修建是为了将舒马瓦山中的木材运往内陆。长约90公里的运河是那个时代最为令人赞叹的水利工程。最开始是将木材运往维也纳，后来联通了伏尔塔瓦河。运河之上有10座大小不一的桥梁，还配有水闸、排水沟等设施。沿着运河有一条路通向Plešné湖（约8公里）。在夏天可以沿着这条路散步或者骑车。而在冬季可以滑雪。
It was first used to transport wood to Vienna and later for transportation to the Vltava. Tens of road and foot bridges span the canal, locks, dykes and sluice gates. Combine an undemanding (approx. 8km) walk along the canal with a trip to Lake Plešné. Do this in the summer on foot or by bike, in the winter on cross-country skis. Or make sometime to watch a demonstration of log driving which takes place here several times a year.
