In Valtice, a renowned wine town in South Moravia, you can take part in the sixth annual World Grape Harvest Championship, probably the only action of its kind with a great atmosphere. The competitive teams, best dressed in the retro style of the 1960s, head out to the vineyards in open wagons pulled by a tractor. After some practice laps and a break, the actual championship begins. The 25-member teams compete on the rows they draw, with each team having 15 minutes to pick their grapes.
