Masaryk circuit, which is 5403 m long, is situated between the village Ostrovačice and the city part Brno-Žebětín. It was built from 1985 to 1987 in order to replace the original classic city circuit where the races were held from the 1930s. The modern facility has a reputation of one of the world‘s safest circuits and thanks to its location in the woods it is also said to be one of the world’s most beautiful. Brno is a hardly substitutable venue in the calendar of the motorcycling and automobile racing championship events. The most important highlight of each season is the competition of the world championship’s series - the Grand Prix of the Czech Republic, which takes place in August.
