A 16-kilometre route with 17 informational panels with text and aerial photos leads along the Svratka River through a picturesque valley to the Vír (Whirlpool) dam and then on to the Švařec water-treatment plant, acquainting you with places along the trail, interesting facts about the construction of the Vír dam, the conservation and treatment of water, potential accidents, and flooding of the village of Chudobín. The abundance of water courses makes the area attractive not only for hiking but also for water touring. An excursion here can be supplemented with a visit to three nearby castle ruins – Pyšolec, Aueršperk and Zubštejn – and also the nearby “marble castle” Pernštejn.
