Cruise through Český Krumlov on a wooden raft
A raft navigated by two raftsmen in authentic costumes of the period will show the passengers most of the key monuments including the Krumlov Chateau from an unusual perspective – from the river Vltava. The cruise can be spiced up by live music right on the raft.
The rafts were incredibly valuable for the locals – in a certain period it was the cheapest means of transportation and its importance increased with the rising consumption of timber as construction material, the growth of the salt trade and other trades.
The oldest written records of timber rafting in South Bohemia date back to the first third of the 12th century. There were virtually no changes in its importance until the 20th century. However, after 70 years, rafting returned to Český Krumlov and you can try it out first-hand.
