The Municipal Museum of Železný Brod
The glass exhibition of the Železný Brod Museum focuses on the development of local glassmaking. In the museum with its charming timbered facade, you will see exhibitions documenting the form of artisanal glass processing in the second half of the 19th century, from the production of pressed and wound beads to their cutting and stringing.
The exhibition presents the history of glass production in Železný Brod from the mid-19th century when a new way of making a living began to spread from the neighbouring Jablonec region to the present day. Contemporary glass art and the unique technology of fused glass sculpture, which was born in Železný Brod, is represented by a gallery of works by world-famous glass artists Jaroslava Brychtová and Stanislav Libenský.Another part of the exhibition presents the activities of the Železný Brod glass school, the first Czech glass school founded in Železný Brod in 1920.

The exhibition also includes examples of glassmakers' working tools, such as a glass table with a flame, machines for making and grinding beads, and various tools.

The smallest visitors can try to make simple objects from beads or jewellery of their own design in the children's corner. In the museum shop, you can buy various locally made glass products.
