Czech glassmakers under one brand

Preciosa, a modern and largest glass company in the Czech Republic, has fifteen plants in ten Czech cities. Its home is Crystal Valley, an area in the beautiful landscape of the Jizera and Lusatian Mountains, where the first glassworks and later a number of glass companies were established during the 16th century. In the 20th century, several dozen large and small companies, enterprises, and factories from north Bohemia merged into a one company called Preciosa. The name is derived from the feminine Latin adjective preciosus - rare, exceptional, noble.

The company's headquarters are in Jablonec nad Nisou. However, Preciosa Lighting, the largest domestic manufacturer of chandeliers and lighting, the company Preciosa Beauty, focused on the production of luxury jewellery, figurines, and gifts from cut crystal, as well as Preciosa Ornela, also operate under the Preciosa brand. It ships traditional Czech beads and seed beads all over the world. Vinolok produces original glass stoppers. You can visit the Preciosa Flagship Store in Prague's Old Town near the Old Town Square.

In search of crystal to Liberce

The Liberec amusement park iQLANDIA, in cooperation with Preciosa, has prepared a Crystal Trail for its visitors, which will draw you in to the world of glass. It demonstrates how glass is made and what it is used for. At seven sites across iQLANDIA, you and your children will learn what glass is made of, see how it is made, and the role of the natural elements, such as earth, fire, water, and air. At the end of the Crystal Trail, you will light up a brand new Preciosa light installation in the shape of a Crystal Molecule!
