You can round out a pleasant stroll or bike ride along the crest of the Orlické Mountains with a visit to the Hanička Fortress Museum. Here you will learn all about the history of the fortress, which dates back to 1930s, when it was built as part of a bulwark against German expansionism. Explore the weapons used by the Czechoslovak Army in 1938 as well as those used after World War Two. The exhibition is complemented by a display of munitions and military uniforms along with period photographs. An integral part of the tour is a visit below ground, with 1.5 kilometres of corridors and halls. You can also examine the armoured gunports for machine guns and the armoured bells.
