The Renaissance city of Prachatice owes its origin to the spectacular development of salt carried along the salt trail. The traditional city festivities that take place annually in the last week of June recall these salt trails with everything.
The arrival of the caravan with horses and carts laden with salt is accompanied by a procession in historical costumes, and the city center is transformed into a historic marketplace with samples of period crafts. Theater and fencing performances take place during the day, while at night a procession with torches moves through Prachatice.
