The painted gables of the Holašovice village square in southern Bohemia provide a beautiful period backdrop for the Peasant Festival, attended by 250 folk artists and craftsmen each year. The core of the three-day folk festival is a folk faire showcasing both traditional and non-traditional crafts from all over the Czech Republic. Ceramics, leather, withy, bobbin lace and woven period clothing all await you. Carvers, knife makers, coin makers, tinkers, blacksmiths, and potters will present their skills. The demonstration of original crafts and techniques in today's technical world creates a very impressive spectacle.
