What do the still unclear burning of a castle in Mníšek pod Brdy by the Swedish army general Banner in 1639 and the charred flag of unknown imperial troops, captured by the Swedes and preserved to this day in the military museum in Stockholm have in common? Fourteen historical fencing groups will try to answer that in a very loose reconstruction of the conquest of Mníšek Castle by the Swedes. In the castle garden a continuous sequence of performances of historical fencing, dancing and jugglers, a historical marketplace, a period spa as well as a number of other attractions for children and adults awaits you. In front of the castle near Prague you will be able to pass through a military camp from the period of the Thirty Years War, where each group will be glad to show you their weapons, including muskets and cannons and embroidered or painted unit flags. While the soldiers will check their weapons and armor and discuss battle strategy, a camp follower will prepare dishes on the hearth and bandages for the wounded.
