The South Bohemian château of Ohrada at Hluboká nad Vltavou is not an ordinary château. It is home to a branch of the National Agricultural Museum in Prague and its exhibitions are devoted to forestry, hunting and fishing. These are the same themes of the spectacular National Hunting Festivities that take place here every year in late June. At the château you can meet hunters, falconers, dog breeders and buglers. One curiosity not seen elsewhere is the national championship in attracting deer, demonstrating hunting customs and traditions, and examples of breeding hunting dogs. The event is popular among families with children: visitors also have free admission to the Ohrada zoo.
