Composer, jazzman, pianist, organist and Grammy winner from Czechia. Czech musician Ondřej Pivec has achieved more than most in contemporary music.
Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album
He made a name for himself in New York, where he also lives, as a virtuoso on the Hammond organ, an unconventional instrument, and he and soul star Gregory Porter won a Grammy for Best Vocal Jazz Album. He played at a party for famous U.S. presenter Oprah Winfrey.
He’s well known on the Czech scene for his jazz ensemble, the Ondřej Pivec Organic Quartet. They play one-off shows in some of Prague’s trendy jazz clubs, such as Jazz Dock, the Reduta Jazz Club and Agharta. In the U.S. he mostly performs with the Kennedy Administration band and appears around the world with American singer Gregory Porter.
He has also created a great promotional video for Czechia’s capital city, Prague. Check it out!
