UNESCO heritage with music
International Music Festival Český Krumlov takes place from July 12 to August 3, 2024 in the historic jewel of South Bohemia – in Český Krumlov. The venues include interesting places in the unique areas of the Castle and Château of Český Krumlov, all listed by UNESCO.
The festival offers 4 weeks of music ranging from the 15th till the 21st century. You will hear a variety of music genres: classical music, jazz, folk, musicals, opera, and crossover. The real gems of the festival’s events are experimental Baroque performances in the oldest Baroque theater in the world.
32nd edition offers 18 concerts at 12 traditional and unusual concert venues in Český Krumlov and its surroundings. Music returns under the night sky of the Summer Riding Hall, the synagogue, the Egon Schiele Art Centre, and the Prádelna Cultural Centre. The program offers not only chamber works, but also symphonic and choral works, as well as ballet suites, opera arias, and Spanish zarzuelas.
Countless Czech and foreign stars will grace the festival: pianist Alexander Melnikov, tenor Charles Castronovo, sopranos Zuzana Markova and Simona Šaturová, guitarist Rafael Aguirre, violinists Vadim Gluzman and Josef Špaček and others.
The fringe program in the Festival Zone in the Monastery Garden will offer free artistic, sports, and educational activities alongside multi-genre concerts.
