The scenic mountain Lipno Reservoir is surrounded with beautiful nature, lined with villages, churches, meadows, and deep Šumava forests. Lipensko is generous and it always offers something new, unexpected, but strong and beautiful.
Accessible Lipno
The numerous adventures of all kinds that Lipensko offers are unique thanks to one thing – they are not only for those who have no limitations. This is a region that has been working on having the broadest offer of activities also for the disabled. The unique Lipno without Barriers project strives to provide diverse and complex activities and continuously creates new programmes and opportunities. All of that led to winning the title of European Destination of Excellence in the category of Accessible Tourism. From spring to winter
Lipensko is interwoven with tens of kilometres of cycling trails, many of which are also accessible to disabled visitors. The disabled are also considered in the use of the water reservoir. There are sports facilities suitable for the disabled, open all year round. One of the greatest attractions, the Canopy trail, is completely wheelchair accessible. In winter, when skiing starts in the Lipno Ski Resort, you can meet many disabled skiers on the slopes. You can even meet visually impaired cross-country skiers with guides on the track. In addition, there are numerous events designed for physically disadvantaged visitors – for example, Lipno Sport Fest, Spartan Race and Spartan Special, the Summer Sports Day with a Disability, Saturdays with Lipno without Barriers, or the Day with a Disability.Perfect facilities
Most of the activities and adventures are concentrated between Lipno nad Vltavou, Frymburk and Přední Výtoň. These municipalities also include facilities required for a comfortable stay of disabled visitors. Firstly, there is accommodation in fourteen wheelchair-accessible hotels and guesthouses. There are sixteen wheelchair-accessible restaurants there, accessible bathrooms and rentals that offer special modified devices and equipment for the disabled. They can do anything, but some things only with our help
In the summer, disabled cyclists can try a tandem bike or a handbike. The ideal terrain is along the Lake Trail from Lipno nad Vltavou to Frymburk. You can take a ride on the lake in a wheelchair-accessible electric boat that is easy to control. In winter, people go skiing at Kramolín. Lipno Ski Resort is a unique five-star winter resort with almost twelve kilometres of downhill slopes and forty kilometres of groomed cross-country ski trails. All of that is made accessible to both athletes and disabled tourists. The rental offers monoski with stabilisers and it is also possible to hire an instructor. And cross-country skiing? The resort offers the services of instructors who have been trained in riding with the blind.
There are also several attractions that are open all year round. The greatest attraction is Canopy trail, it is high above the ground and it ends with a lookout tower, forty metres high and with wheelchair access. The views from the trail are unparalleled. The evening walks, or rides in the case of disabled tourists, are absolutely fascinating. The view of the darkness embroidered with the town and village lights is unforgettable. Another place that is open all year round is the unique bobsleigh track. It is unique as it combines two types of tracks – an Alpine coaster and a bobsleigh track. The new Alpine coaster is more comfortable for the disabled and for families with children. Aquaworld, a covered water paradise with a counterflow pool, is open all year round and it is also very popular. Disabled visitors can enjoy almost all attractions of Aquaworld thanks to the Delfín pool lift that makes access to water easy.
