At the R. JELÍNEK Slivovitz Museum in Prague's Lesser Town, you can discover the secrets of the Czech plum brandy production, which has been made in Wallachia, especially in Vizovice, the capital of slivovitz, for nearly half a century.
Through an interactive exhibition, you will learn not only about the production of fruit spirits but also the history of distilling in Vizovice and stories of local distilling families, especially the Jelinek family. The family began producing slivovitz in Vizovice as early as the 19th century. Today, the Rudolf Jelínek company is one of the world's largest producers of fruit spirits.
Taste all R. Jelínek's product in the tasting bar
The museum also includes a tasting bar with a full range of R. Jelínek spirits (including kosher variants). Fans of mixed drinks or liqueurs will also find their favourites here. In addition to the products of the original Czech distillery, you can also taste traditional Wallachian cuisine in the bar, e.g. soup kyselica made from sauerkraut or halušky - potato gnocchi served with sheep cheese.
