Henri Rousseau in Prague
An exhibition of the works of Henri Rousseau has embarked from the Musée d'Orsay in Paris en route to Kinský Palace in Prague, where it will be presented in context with the Czech artists who had a similar style to Rousseau.
Henri Rousseau, nicknamed the customs official, was one of the most important artists at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. The authors of the exhibition have created a concept that represents Rousseau’s style together with other works from equally important artists to highlight their mutual inspiration. For the show in Prague, various works have been borrowed from a number of prestigious domestic and foreign institutions and private collections. With his style, Henri Rousseau captivated intellectuals like Guillaume Apollinaire and many other artists. Let him captivate you as well.
