700 Years of Charles IV – Concert by the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra
In mid-May, the most important Catholic Church in the Czech Republic – the Cathedral of St. Vitus, Wenceslas and Adalbert will host the famous Czech Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of the internationally acclaimed Czech conductor Jiří Bělohlávek in a concert commemorating the 700th anniversary of Charles IV. Along with the symphonic poem Praga by Josef Suk, Te Deum by Antonín Dvořák, they will also play the composition titled Tribute to Charles IV by Petr Eben. The concert will be held at a venue, which ows its existence to Charles IV – it was him who initiated the construction of the Cathedral at the Prague Castle in 1344 and he is also buried there.
