700 years of Charles IV – Crown Jewels at Prague Castle
The Czech Crown Jewels consist of the Crown of Saint Wenceslas, the Royal Sceptre and the Royal Orb, together with a bag and coronation mantle with ermine accessories. The rarest of these items is the Crown of Saint Wenceslas, designed by Czech King and Holy Roman Emperor, Charles IV in 1346.
In 2016, it will be exactly 700 years since his birth, and to mark this important anniversary, the Czech Crown Jewels will exceptionally be displayed. Normally, the public only get a chance to see the Crown Jewels during the election of the President of the Czech Republic. The Jewels will be displayed at Prague Castle with free admission, so don't miss this unique opportunity.
