Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart is returning to Prague! The brilliant composer enjoyed great success here with his opera Le nozze di Figaro. Prague also hosted the premiere of his opera Don Giovanni. So now, 260 years after his birth, Mozart’s music is coming back to where it enjoyed such glory.
Mozart was born 260 years ago and his genius is being commemorated in the many countries he had links to. The Czech Republic is one of them. Mozart visited the Czech lands many times and he praised the fact that his works often had greater success here than in his native Austria. The Czech Republic and in particular Prague, played a major role in the creation of Mozart’s music. That is why Prague will host the weeklong I’Mozart Festival, where 250 artists from ten countries will perform at the Estates Theater and Rudolfinum.
