The annual Šamajim Festival of Jewish Culture offers you a genuine opportunity to get acquainted with Třebíč’s Jewish quarter Zámostí, registered together with the Romanesque-Gothic Basilica of St. Prokop as a UNESCO site. It takes place in late July and early August when the Jewish quarter comes to life as in old times. The concerts reverberate with klezmer and Hasidic songs, and there are also theatrical and dance performances and lectures. A special program is designed for families with children, in addition to creative and thematic exhibitions and lessons in klezmer, Balkan and folk dances.
