The Garlic Festival is held in late July in the park around Castle Buchlovice. The program includes the presentation of the garlic harvest to the mayor of Buchlovice, the singing of garlic hymns, cutting a garlic cake, raising a garlic banner and making a toast with garlic buttermilk in front of all attending choirs and ensembles. During the festivities, you can try garlic dishes, compete for the best garlic recipe or the most beautiful garlic braid, vote for Miss Garlic, and a garlic-smelling contest will take place. The event traditionally includes regional culinary specialties, brass band music, lectures on garlic, and an entertaining supporting program.
